Detailed Description

SPICE precipitation correction functions for undercatch in winter conditions.

This implements the corrections laid out in Kochendorfer, J., Nitu, R., Wolff, M., Mekis, E., Rasmussen, R., Baker, B., Earle, M.E., Reverdin, A., Wong, K., Smith, C.D. and Yang, D., 2018. Testing and development of transfer functions for weighing precipitation gauges in WMO-SPICE. Hydrology and Earth System Sciences, 22(2), pp.1437-1452, 10.5194/hess-22-1437-2018. The coefficients are provided in its supplement at 10.5194/hess-22-1437-2018-supplement.

The following arguments are supported:

TYPE: this gives the rain gauge type. It must be one of: Geonor, Hellmann;
WIND_HEIGHT: the height at which wind speed is measured - either "gauge" (at gauge height) or "10m" (at 10 meters). Default: gauge
EQUATION: the correction equation to use - 1, 2, or 3. Not all combinations are valid. Default: 1
T_SNOW: solid precipitation temperature threshold (in K, default -2 C);
T_RAIN: liquid precipitation temperature threshold (in K, default +2 C);
